Alex Church is one of the Senior Consultants here at Metataxis.

Alex is a highly experienced information management professional focused on helping organisations maximise the value of their information and knowledge by delivering robust and practical advice and solutions firmly rooted in the business context.

He has been in the information management field for over twenty-five years, starting his journey working in an historical archive and studying for his Masters in Archive and Records Management at University College London. He then held industry roles in records management, IT, and information architecture for over fifteen years before joining Metataxis as a consultant over ten years ago.

Over this time he has successfully introduced new policies, processes, delivered technology solutions and driven user adoption to improve information and knowledge management within organisations, to deliver real business benefit. Working with clients, he takes an approach that favours enduring strategic benefit whilst being conscious of the need to deliver tangible benefits in the short term.

Alex has worked across all sectors, providing information solutions to local and central government bodies, multinationals, charities and a host of other organisations both in the UK and internationally.

His wide range of skills include information strategy, information architecture, ECM, EDRMS, GDPR, information governance, records management, knowledge management, enterprise architecture, intranets and collaboration platforms. He has deep SharePoint and Microsoft 365 experience going back to SharePoint 2007 and uses this experience to work with clients on M365 strategy, information architecture, information governance, migration, and implementation.

Alex is always seeking to learn and improve his knowledge and is eagerly exploring the potential of Artificial Intelligence in the information management field and the importance of information architecture and information governance in AI deployments.
