Compliantly and consistently managing information across all platforms
Having previously worked closely with the in-house team to define a well-structured and comprehensive strategy to improve knowledge and information management, Metataxis is delighted to have now implemented phase 1 of these recommendations for a UK central government department.
In line with our staged, actionable roadmap, our team of knowledge management professionals here at Metataxis kickstarted the implementation project with a content audit across the various systems and platforms in use to give us a better understanding of their content. Following an in-depth assessment of the current information architecture and information governance frameworks in place, we were then able to set out the principles and outline clear models to guide future development across the department.
We created practical guides for taking these models and implementing them in their platforms using system specific architecture and governance capabilities, as well as producing a plan to help the department proceed with full implementation. This framework included the decisions and steps needed to successfully, compliantly and above all consistently – rollout this information architecture and information governance elements across all their platforms.
With a clear information management structure in place, this central government department will have rapid access to the right information needed to deliver services more efficiently, by significantly reducing the time spent looking for information. It will also break down silos across teams, align ways of working with information, and help them work more collaboratively by leveraging collective knowledge. Finally, the department can mitigate risk and maintain compliance, confident in the knowledge they are meeting all business, regulatory and legal obligations to manage information.
